Practice 01
Plant a Beginning
Quiet focus: Creation
Growth often begins quietly. A seed, cutting, new leaf, or patch of soil does not need an audience. It begins with the conditions available to it: water, light, time, protection, and care.
This practice is not about having a garden or knowing how to grow something perfectly. It is an invitation to participate in one small beginning and notice what it feels like to care for something that cannot be rushed.
Practice Invitation
Choose one small act of tending.
You might:
- Plant a seed.
- Water a plant.
- Repot something that needs room.
- Pull one weed.
- Trim a dead leaf.
- Place a struggling plant where it can receive better light.
- Begin with a jar, recycled container, windowsill, or small patch of soil.
As you work, notice the difference between supporting growth and trying to force it. Pay attention to the soil, water, roots, leaves, and patience involved.
Stop after caring for one living thing. Let one beginning be enough.
Optional Journal
What beginning am I tending in myself?
Journaling is optional. The act itself is the practice.
